Skeg System 4 – Most Advanced Skeg System

The Skeg System 4 is designed for versatility and easy installation, making it the perfect choice for various kayak types. It can be fitted to a composite kayak using either our ABS skeg box or a pre-laminated composite skeg box. For rotomolded kayaks, the skeg pairs seamlessly with a rotomolded skeg box when used with our unique Skeg Axle (521610).

Innovative Design for Smooth Performance

The foil-shaped skeg blade is operated by Dyneema rope, a lightweight, friction-free, and corrosion-resistant alternative to traditional wire. Unlike wire, it won’t kink and can be easily repaired on expeditions without special tools.

A unique rope coil allows for quick rope length adjustments and ensures easy maintenance by reserving extra rope for future use.

The snap-in connection makes installation and removal quick and effortless.

A corrosion-free spring allows the blade to move upward upon impact, protecting it from damage when hitting obstacles.
