Skeg System 4 – Most Advanced Skeg System

Designed for smooth and precise. It can be fitted to a composite kayak using either our ABS skeg box or a pre-laminated composite skeg box. For rotomolded kayaks, the skeg pairs seamlessly with a rotomolded skeg box when used with our unique Skeg Axle (521610). Featuring a foil blade controlled by a Dyneema rope, this system offers a lightweight, friction and corrosion free solution that won’t kink at any point. A unique rope coil allows easy re-adjustment of the rope length when needed, ensuring long-term performance. The blade is designed for quick snap-in installation, making it easy to attach or remove. Additionally, a corrosion-free spring enables the blade to move freely upward upon impact, preventing damage when encountering obstacles.

The Skeg System 4 is available with three skeg box flange variations to suit different installation needs:

521110 – Without Flange

521120 – Flat Flange

521130 – Screw Flange

The skeg is operated by a new-generation Skeg Control Unit, featuring a low-profile control button for smooth and recessed installation near the cockpit. The control unit offers precise handling and a stylish, user-friendly design. The button automatically locks in place to hold the blade securely in the correct position. The system has innovative Tube Connector for a Secure, Waterproof Setup

Optional Adapter Box for Easy Installation

For boats without a deck recess, we offer the optional 521710 KS Adapter Box. This adapter simplifies the installation of the skeg control unit without the need for glue, ensuring a waterproof and secure fit. Additionally, the system can be easily unscrewed for maintenance when necessary.
